An eleven-member team from Nagaland showcased India in Thailand Improving International Folklore Festival. They Performed Arts and Theatricals (APAT).
There were 13 different nations like Australia, Egypt, Israel, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, Cambodia, South Korea, Sri Lanka and the host country Thailand.
Green state Tripura(7th February)
Natural Gas Co. Ltd (TNGCL) of Tripura has taken a brave step to provide Compressed Natural Gas in more vehicles and Piped Natural Gas to all households in capital Agartala and other district towns. This would create Agartala the first ever green capital city of northeast India.
Earthquake in Meghalaya(12th February)
Meghalaya was shaken by the earthquake of 4.5 magnitudes in Richter scale. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties. Mild tremors were also felt in the region of Garhwal in Uttarakhand.
Inventor of Arunachal Pradesh (13th February)
Anang Tadar the young boy of Arunachal Pradesh has invented an amazing device called ‘G6B’ (Goggle for Blind). It is special wearable glasses, made for the visually challenged individuals. Anang Tadar is an 11th standard student of New Galaxy Academy. Speaking about this innovation, he said: “I have developed this on the based on echolocation used by bats.”
Assam’s Shikdamakha is the cleanliest Village of India (14th February)
The competition began in the Christmas of 2012 in Meghalaya where Mawlynnong village won the title of “Asia’s cleanliest village”. Being influenced by the neighbour, Assam’s Shikdamakha started to give their all to beat Mawlynnong. Today they are the resident of India’s cleanliest Village.
Mizoram Minister for Labour & Employment Lalrinmawia Ralte Resigned(15th February)
The Minister submitted his resignation letter from the State Cabinet. He was unable to stand against the immense pressure from Mizo National Front for sending 32 students to Nalanda Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) in Kolkata for pursuing Bachelor of Hotel Management, which the students later “discovered” to be a total fake institution.
Irom Sharmila files her nomination in Manipur Polls (16th February )
Activist Sharmila and Manipur CM Okram Ibobi Singh, who is rising for a fourth run, filed their nominations for Thoubal Assembly seat in Manipur polls.
Sharmila went up with her nomination for Peoples' Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA). They are making their Electoral debut.
Ujala scheme of Sikkim Government(16th February)
D.D.Bhutia, The Minister of Energy & Power and Labour Department officially launched Unnat Jeevan by Affordable LED and Appliance for All (UJALA) scheme.
The minister has also asked everyone to generate awareness among other people and encourage all to use LED since conservation of the energy does not cost much.
