Orissa the beautiful India state of Orissa, situated in the eastern coastal area and widely famous for its unique feature when the ebb tide in the sea water recedes as much as 1 to 5 kilometres. Orissa ‘Commissionerate of Police observes its 9th Raising Day’

The Commissionerate Police of Orissa 9th Raising Day Parade had observed on the OSAP 7th Battalion Ground in the state capital city. The state Chief Minister, Mr. Naveen Patnaik was the chief inaugural guest of this event where as DGP Kunwar Brajesh Singh was given as the guest of honour. During this event, the state Chief Minister, “I congratulate the twin city police commissionerate on its Raising Day occasion and thank policemen and policewomen who have performed their duties successfully” and also emphasised on the need for the better rapport of the police while addressing the public in this event.

Court proceedings were boycott by the Odisha lawyers

The district court proceedings across Orissa even including the state High Court of Orissa, were now paralysed because the lawyers did not attend them in the protest against the failure of the police to arrest the killers of Puri based hotelier Chandan Kumar Behera, who also happened to be a lawyer and a member of the Puri Bar Association. Behera was allegedly hacked to death by unidentified assailants near his hotel Sai Kutir on Sunday evening.

Odisha Students in not happy with CBSE board exam dates

Central Board of Secondary Education has rescheduled the Board examination dates for class XII and X in the wake of state assembly elections in the five states. So the examinations for both classes will starts from the March 09 while class Xth exam will end on 10th April and class XII on 29th April. Students has expressed their concern that they won't get any adequate time for preparing for the upcoming entrance tests and that would likely to delay the publication of results. "There are adequate gaps between each subject paper but since the exam will continue till April 29, the time for preparation for other entrance tests may not be adequate," said Rashika Pandey, a class XIIth student.

Two RPF officials suspended by Suresh Prabhu in Odisha

Two Railway Protection Force personnel were suspended by Suresh Prabhu in the connection with the alleged thrashing of a differently abled man at Balasore station in Orissa after the Railways Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu ordered a new probe into the incident. The information about the suspension came into light through a twitter post by Prabhu, who had yesterday directed the Director General of RPF to investigate the matter after a video clip of the incident went viral on local news channels. "I had taken immediate cognisance of the case, had ordered enquiry. Subsequently two RPF personnel responsible have been put under suspension," Prabhu tweeted.
