Bihu is the one of the famous Festival of eastern state of Assam which is the new year festival of the Assamees people. Assam is the small state of eastern part of India which is well reckoned for the festival Bihu that depicts the set of three different culture of the state. The word Bihu which came from the Sanskrit that means Vishu which means new year.
When It Is Celebrated?
Bihu is the cheerful festival which is celebrated by the locals people of Assam irrespective of theirs caste, culture, creeds and beliefs. Assamese celebrate the three different types of Bihu festivals that is Bohaag Bihu in the months of April, Maagh Bihu in the moths of January and Kaati Bihu in the months of October.
How It Is Celebrated?
It is a secular festival of Assam which is celebrated in all parts of Assam, irrespective of their caste, culture and creed or even religious background. It is a traditional and cultural festival, where devotees cook traditional meals and wear theirs traditional dress. Dance and music are one of the important part of the Bihu celebration and the festival continues for the seven days. The entire Bihu festival is extremely secular which is deeply connected with agriculture and nature. The celebration accompanied by the Orchestra parties and the joy of the celebration begins , at various place on this day fairs and fest are organized where the devotes participates in the festivity .
