A massive 365% rise in the investment of Bihar (5th March): Bihar is back! Breaking all the negativity, Bihar has been able to achieve new investment proposals worth Rs 5,794 crore. Data revealed by the department of industrial policy and promotion of the Union commerce ministry on 5th March, says that a massive 365% rise has been earned in investment proposals over Rs 1,247 crore in 2015.
Odisha govt appointed Srinath Reddy as the health adviser (6th March): K Srinath Reddy has been given a cabinet minister’s rank as an adviser to the govt. on health matter on 6th March 2017. The state doesn’t have a full-time health minister after resignation of Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak. Finance minister Pradip Amat was handling the department.
CII launches IWN in West Bengal (8th March): The Confederation of Indian Industry has launched a forum, Indian Women Network in West Bengal on International Women’s Day. Smita Pandit Chakraborty, The chairperson of the CII West Bengal’s state council told that the IWN will encourage women in learning and development, well-being and health when the basic objectives are to grow awareness of learning and implementing. It will help a fresher from being a student to a successful professional.
Mass Marriage (8th March): Kashi Vishwanath Manch of West Bengal celebrated Women’s Week with some gala of mass marriage. The forum organised the event in the holy town of Tarakeshwar where 51 pairs tied the knot. The pairs are from financially weak families. The event has helped them to build a new life.
Odisha women get 24×7 helpline 181(8th March): On the International Women’s Day, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched helpline number 181 to provide more security to women. The helpline will remain available 24*7. A woman in trouble or in an emergency can dial the toll-free number from any part of the state to avail immediate assistance.
