Special ambulance service for Pet animals in Chandigarh
The pet owners and residents of Chandigarh will now able to avail the special animal care facility in Tricity under the Union Territories department of animal husbandry. The UT department of animal husbandry has started the special services, Ambulance for small and pet animals. The service will start under the MPLAD scheme that will provide the transport service for sick and injured animals for better treatment to the nearby veterinary hospitals. Anyone can avail this art ambulance service by paying the nominal fare of Rs 300 per trip. This special ambulance is equipped with all the technology aid emergency medication facility under the supervision of senior para-veterinary staff.
Chandigarh ‘cashless facilities in Sector 17’
THE Candigarh administration has finally decided to provide the cashless facilities in Sector, 17th and Sector 26th Grain Market in on a pilot basis. The UT authorities had a deadline of 10th December for this purpose and the rest of the city markets will get cashless facilities very soon in a well planned manner. Grain Market and Sector, 17th are the most crowded and frequented used markets in the city having more than 500 outlets in each market. At present, around 75 per cent of retail outlets in Sector, 17th accept the payment through debit and credit cards. The Candigarh deputy commissioner said that all the outlets must have the point of sale machines, besides providing the cashless transaction modes to the customers such as the mobile wallets, app-based PoS and unified payment interface (UPI).

Chandigarh will go cashless by December 10
No Sampark Centre will accept cash for payment of electricity and water bills, besides the fees for various types of work in departments, after 10th December as the UT Administration has started a new campaign to make Union Territories the first cashless city. Chandigarh administrator Mr. VP Singh has expressed his desire to make the Chandigarh, India first cashless city and for that he and his officials held a serious series of meetings with the city bankers to start with the government departments to ensure that all the payments were made through the credit or debit cards and UPI app. As per the media sources the banks were asked to provide swipe machines, micro ATMs, pre-paid cards and other cards available to users and also start a campaign to make people aware of e-banking and mobile banking.
Chandigarh ‘first UT for attaining Aadhaar saturation’
Chandigarh Union Territories have recently achieved the distinction of being the first Union Territories without any legislation assembly in the country to attain the universal Aadhaar card saturation of 11,25,800 residents of the Chandigarh said in a press release. As per the 2011 census, the Chandigarh population was at 10,54,856. With this successful approach this Union Territory has now become the first Union Territories in the country to achieve Hundred per cent Aadhaar Card Saturation after Telangana, Haryana and Punjab are the other states in the country who have achieved 100 per cent Aadhaar Card saturation.
Census ‘People migrants in Chandigarh for work’
Most people are shifting to this Beautiful Tricity mostly for employment and work opportunities, according to the new census data report that is released by the registrar of general and census commissioner. According to the report, in year 2011, around 8 lakh people were migrants (people who settled in a different place from a previous residence) in Chandigarh. According to this new report, this Tricity having a total 7,08000 migrants in which 3,7900 were men and the rest were women.
